Model: Victus by HP 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop (16 r1174ng)
Adapter: Realtek RTL8852BE WiFi 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter
Description of the Problem:
- The WiFi connection is frequently unstable for a specific area (university, so eduroam and an other one which is located there), leading to frequent disconnections (disconnect right after (partly?) successful connection).
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
- Driver Updates: Ensured all drivers are up-to-date through Device Manager and the HP support website.
- Network Reset: Performed a network reset to restore default settings.
- Power Management Settings: Checked power management options but did not find a Power Management tab for the adapter.
- Reinstallation of Drivers: Uninstalled and reinstalled the network driver multiple times.
- Run Network Troubleshooter: Used Windows Network Troubleshooter to identify and fix issues.
Additional Observations:
- The problem persists despite following standard troubleshooting procedures, including power cycling the laptop.
- Other users with similar adapters have reported comparable issues, suggesting a potential hardware or compatibility problem.
- Android Phone and my other Windows Laptop have no Problems at all, using the same configuration. Also all other students I asked have no problem with eduroam.
- Issue is not temporarily, it never worked before with this laptop
- I also have Problems with Bluetooth Device Connection while WiFi is turned on and connected to Wifi. As soon as I disconnect from WiFi, my Bluetooth device is able to connect, otherwise it would keep failing. (Altough this is not acceptable for such a Laptop, this still can be an interference issue)
Request for Assistance:
I would like assistance in diagnosing whether this is a hardware issue with the Realtek adapter or if there are additional software configurations that could resolve my connectivity problems.

W11 24H2 has been released to the public and if you want to update now, you can click on the blue W11 Installation Assistant button at the link below:
Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)
You didn't mention what driver version is installed for the RTL8852BE Wi-Fi 6 adapter.
This is currently the latest driver HP has for that model Wi-Fi adapter:
6001.15.154.0
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp155001-155500/sp155074.exe

I had indeed an older version of the driver, although I had checked today and even HP said on the website that all my drivers are on the latest version.
I upgraded now from 6001.15.150.0 to 6001.15.154.0
I already tried updating Windows that way, but it didn't worked. Looks like I had to install the Windows Integrity Check for Windows 11 specs check, etc. too to make this Updater work.
Will report if I can connect after these changes once I can try connecting to the eduroam again, thanks for the quick response!

So now I still can't connect.
I am running 6001.15.154.0 driver version now and windows 24H2.
But instead of completely disconnecting, I now get an apipa adress for my laptop. I tried to disable ipv6 and I also reset the network settings completely once again. No changes.
I still can connect to other WiFi networks like before. Should I somehow try to use a static IP-Adress? It seems like i have a IP for a short amount of time, something like 172.16. and then it switched to apipa.

I guess you can try anything at this point, since I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.
While I can't guarantee it will work, you may want to replace the Realtek Wi-Fi card with this model:
Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part # / SPS # M27269-005
Below is the link to the service teardown video:

Okay, thanks! I'll try a few more things and also try a wifi usb stick to see if this will work. And since I plan to make linux dual boot, I'll give the wifi card one last chance, else I would need to change it like you said.
Is there a way to get this intel card with my warranty? Or would they just replace it with the same one?
