Hi! @lazarus12, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have wireless issues with your PC.

Don't worry I'm here to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Are the wireless drivers listed in device manager?

Are you playing online games on your PC?

Please share the wireless driver name listed in the device manager, also share the product number of your laptop to assist you better.

As you mentioned when you play games using wireless the PC is running slow.

Update the BIOS and wireless drivers on your PC and check if it helps.

Update the BIOS using this link: https://hp.care/2rem6Dh

Update the wireless drivers using this link: https://hp.care/2I54aoj

Try the steps recommended below.

Someone in your immediate area may be running competing wireless - it is doubtful that you are on the same channel, but it can happen.  Log into your router and change the "channel".  There should be instructions for doing so... just poke around at it until you find the right spot.  Try channel 11 or something else if 11 is already selected.

Call your local Internet Service Provider (ISP) or visit their website to see if your provider is currently experiencing technical difficulties. If your provider is currently experiencing technical difficulties such as poor latency or long wait times, you must wait until the problems are resolved by your ISP. Also, If your ISP requires special software that you must use to connect the Internet, ask them if they advise reinstalling the software. If so, use instructions provided by your ISP to remove and reinstall your ISP software.

Use the Network Speed Test to measure your network response time, download speed, and upload speed. Based on your connection’s speed, Network Speed Test will tell you what activities you can do, such as stream music or high-quality video.

If you are playing a game on a browser try resetting the browser to its default settings.

However, you can try few steps recommended below and Manually change network settings.

Manually changing the network settings can resolve wireless connection issues. Create a restore point in Windows, and then manually change the network settings.
Using the search box on the taskbar, search for and open Create a restore point.
The System Properties window displays.
Click Create.
Type a name for the restore point, and then click Create.
Windows creates the restore point.
Using the search box on the taskbar, search for Command Prompt. In the results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
If a User Account Control screen displays asking if you want to allow the app to make changes to your computer, click Yes.

Type the following commands one at a time, pressing Enter after each one.
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
To open the TCP Global Settings, type netsh int tcp show global in Command Prompt and then press Enter.
Make sure all settings are disabled except Receive-Side Scaling State.
Close Command Prompt, reboot the system and then try to connect to the Internet.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

On your keyboard, press Windows logo key and X at the same time, then choose Settings.

In the search box, type in Troubleshoot and choose Troubleshoot network.

On the right side of the pane, click Run the troubleshooter under Internet Connections.

Select Troubleshoot my connection to the Internet.

When the automatic troubleshooter finishes running the procedure, you will be able to see certain error notification. For instance:

Also, try uninstalling the wireless drivers from device manager and install the latest drivers using HP recovery manager.

Note: Before uninstalling the wireless drivers make sure you connect the ethernet cable to your PC and then uninstall the drivers.

Thanks for your response. I have looked at the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo 806723-005 that you suggested and I noticed it requires two antenna for dual band. My hp 15-ba051wm is a single antenna system. My question is, where would I connect the single antenna wire on the dual band card.

Sorry to be such a pest but I would like not to fry my system. Lol :-}

Thank you for your time.

@lazarus12, Thanks for your quick response and time again.

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us again.

As you mentioned you laptop was shipped with a single antenna system.

Since you laptop was shipped with a single antenna I would suggest an alternative that can be used as an external wireless card.

You can purchase NET-DYN Top Dual Band USB Wireless WiFi Adapter, AC1200. This is a dual-band wireless card and you can purchase this adapter from Amazon.

Or you have to upgrade the antenna system on your laptop.
