Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer loses the wifi connectivity. You have to enter the password to make the printer connect to the wireless network. There is an error message stating that the printer is offline. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
This could happen if the printer and the router are not on the same channel. The router needs to broadcast at 2.4 GHz and must be o the b/g/n type network.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Please perform a firmware update on the printer via this link.
- Post the successful firmware update, yo may restart the printer.
If the issue persists then please perform the following steps from this HP article:
- Step 2: Set the default printer and unpause printing.
- Step 3: Reset the printer and check the connection status.
- Step 4: Make sure the correct port is selected.
- Step 6: Create a manual connection (network connections only).
- Please perform this steps if the issue is unresolved yet: Step 7: Add a second printer device to Windows (network connections only).
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please feel free to keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
