Product: HP EliteBook 745 G6, 6XE86EA#AKD
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

Have HP EliteBook 745 G6 with SIM card slot ( HP productID: 6XE86EA#AKD), but can't see LTE modem in device manager, hence can't use mobile internet (checked with working SIM card).

Does 6XE86EA#AKD support LTE (WWAN)? If yes, how make modem working?

Hi:

 

You would have to open up the notebook and check to make sure the required antennas for the WWAN card are present so that you can connect them to a supported WWAN card you purchase.

 

If the antennas are not present, then you would have to completely disassemble the notebook including the display panel area to properly run the WWAN antennas.

 

You'd be better off selling your notebook and buying one with the WWAN card already included.

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, which will have the WWAN card installation procedure.

Chapter 3 will have the list of supported WWAN cards with their HP part numbers.

 

You would need to order one of those with the HP part number.
