Hi. Hoping someone can help me with a neighbor’s WiFi issue. Our apartment building just got new & mandatory Internet through Zentro. New internet boxes were installed in each apartment. The speed is 1 GB.  My mom volunteered me to help a few older & anxious neighbors transition to the new network. One neighbor has hooked up all devices to her new router except her personal laptop which is a 5-year-old HP Pavilion. For some reason the laptop can only see older networks and not either of our new networks. After googling, I ran Defender virus scanner & updates which didn’t help. I ran troubleshooters & driver updates and got the message “Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy” error. I googled the error and tried rebooting, rebooting router, review proxy setting, network adapter troubleshooter, checked IP address settings, reset network configuration via command prompt all to no avail. I am going to try the steps in this link next. Any other suggestions?

Firstly allow new router to broadcast both bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz) or triple bands. Other machine bow can see SSID of the 2.4GHz and allow you to connect.

Regards.
