Hello,
I am using Pavilion 15 -po73TX
My laptop is running on Windows 10 version 1703 (OS Build 15063.483)
My laptop's Wireless adapter is Broadcom BCM43142 802.11bgn
My laptop turns on as normal, connects to wifi and works.
But sometimes randomly the wi-fi disconnects (the 'internet access' symbol on the task bar goes from wifi connected to disconnected symbol. Shortly after this, it changes to a box with a red cross in it) and the whole computer hangs/freezes and cannot be used again without forcing a shutdown with the power button.
Can anyone please help me in figuring out what the issue is?
Thanks.

It might help to change the power setting. In Device Manager, right click the wireless adapter and choose Properties. In the window that opens click on Power Management tab. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

I experience the same problem. The laptop is working fine the it disconnects Wifi and changes the icon as you have described and totally freezes. No response at all. If music was palying then it just becomes noisy and I have to remove the battery or force restart. This has been happening for a month now.
I am using windows 10 version 1803 on Hp Pavilion 14.
Anyone with a solution kindly help
