HP Notebook - 15-dw0083wm
Microsoft Windows 11

Laptop still under warranty - When I turn on - rarely auto connected to our WIFI.  After multiple attempts - restarting computer, restarting router,  typing pasword in (again and again)... restarting wifi adapter... after like 10-15  minutes - will connect.

Sometimes will not connect except by ethernet.

UGH!!!  THANKS for reading! and hopefully replying!

Hi, Kim:

Unfortunately, the model Wi-Fi adapter your notebook has is usually problematic at best.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the Realtek Wi-Fi driver to the latest version that HP has for the RTL8821CE Wi-Fi card.

I am fairly confident that your notebook does not have the latest driver installed.

Thanks much. I will try the download.  For some reason, immediately AFTER I posted the question, the problem resolved! Gosh! That drives me crazy. LOL!! 😅

Paul,

Unfortunately, the problem continues with connecting to my WI-FI.

I downloaded the link you provided.

Today, I had to do the following steps to finally get online.

1. Enter wi-fi PASSWORD

2. Would not connect

3. Restart WI-FI network adapter.

4. Would not connect.

5. Restart Modem.

6. Would not connect.

7. Restart Computer.

Finally online!
