Thank you.  I'll see if I can solve this problem.  My wireless network adapter suddenly went missing.  After looking it up on Device Manager (and show hidden devices) I found out there appears to be a Code 45 (hardware device not connected to  the computer), which is strange to me because I haven't worked on my computer to take it out. If there is any suggestion I might have I would appreciate it.  And just one more thing, the warranty is expired so, don't know if that means there is no way of fixing this.

Thanks again,

PJ

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know how to fix that problem.

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information.

You may have to replace the wifi card with a different model if it's possible.

Realtek wifi cards are lousy.

Finally! I got it fixed! After clicking the link you provided me and downloading its files, also while downloading some Win updates, I restarted my computer and then I noticed the Wi-Fi button was up and running like it should, and now the Wi-Fi network adapter icon also appeared.  Problem solved!

Again, thank you for your support. I'd pay you a beer, or coffee if I could, as a token of my appreciation! 😉
