Hi,

Have a user on which computer suddenly configuring the Intel XMM 7560R+ started, se below.

I have not found that an installation started before in event viewer or under c:\SWSetup.

Does this device frimware auto update?

If not, are there any log where I can check why this configuration started?

@PeterJunell67, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand that your system unexpectedly started configuring the Intel XMM 7560R+ mobile broadband device, and you would like to check if this was an automatic update and where to find logs for more details.

Does the Intel XMM 7560R+ Firmware Auto-Update?

HP devices typically do not update modem firmware automatically unless:

  • A Windows Update includes a driver/firmware update.
  • HP Support Assistant or HP Image Assistant has pushed an update.
  • Your IT department has deployed an update via a managed system.

To verify if an update was installed automatically, you can check Windows Update and HP Support tools.

Where to Check Logs for More Information

A. Windows Event Viewer (System & Application Logs)

  1. Press Win + X, select Event Viewer.
  2. Navigate to Windows Logs > System.
  3. Look for events related to Device Setup Manager

B. Windows Update History

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  2. Click View update history to check if a driver/firmware update was installed.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you need additional support.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi,

No drivers was sent from Microsoft since the computer is managed in a corporate network and updates are sent from SCCM.

Only Windows 10 security updates has been sent to the computer.

Also checked Event viewer under Windows Logs > System and no actions related to Device Setup Manager was found.

Any other ideas?

Best regards
