When I plug in my logitech mouse & keyboard dongle the wifi stops, and the computer says there are no wifi connections. Normally I see a list of different wifi connections. This happens even when the mouse and keyboard are switched off.

This set works fine on other computers.

Hi @Neils4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

Logitech wireless dongles (especially the Unifying Receiver) can interfere with Wi-Fi because both operate in the 2.4 GHz frequency band

When you plug in the dongle, it can cause radio frequency interference that disrupts your computer’s Wi-Fi adapter, making it look like there are no available networks.

This explains why the problem happens even if the mouse and keyboard are switched off, and why it works fine on other computers (different Wi-Fi adapters have different levels of shielding and tolerance).

Why this happens

  • Shared frequency: Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) and Logitech receivers both transmit in the same band.
  • Poor shielding or placement: If the dongle is too close to the Wi-Fi antenna, interference spikes.
  • USB 3.0 ports: These can generate additional noise in the 2.4 GHz range, worsening the issue.

Perform

  • Use a USB extension cable: Move the Logitech dongle a few inches away from the laptop/PC body. This often solves the interference instantly.
  • Switch Wi-Fi to 5 GHz: If your router and adapter support it, connect to the 5 GHz band, which avoids the conflict entirely.
  • Try different USB ports: Especially avoid USB 3.0 ports near the Wi-Fi card; use USB 2.0 ports instead.
  • Update drivers: Make sure both your Wi-Fi adapter and Logitech Unifying software are up to date.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Regards

Pallipurath.
