HP Laptop 14
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After the last Windows 10 update I lost my 5 Ghz network. In the list over available networks "Hidden" has showed up, but only on this computer, not the others or our mobiles. The 2,4 Ghz is also extremely unstable. I¨ve checked everything I can think of including the drivers.

Interface     : Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n PCIe Adapter

Driver;          10.27.511.2018

Driver date 5 - 11 - 2018

Wlan report states:

Success:     0

Failures:    12

Warnings: 14

Network disconnected by driver 17 times

Network disconnected policy  4 times

Network disconnected dynamic key 5 times

Does anyone have a clue of what I can do it will be highly appreciated.

Hi:

The Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n PCIe Adapter is a single band wifi card.

It never could connect to the 5.0 GHz wifi band.

Please see the specs below.

Anytime you see a wifi N adapter with a suffix that ends in b/g/n, that means it is a single band (2.4 GHz only) wifi adapter.

Dual band wifi N adapters have suffixes that end in a/b/g/n or a/g/n.

For the other issue...there is a newer wifi driver you can try...

That isn't accurate. The 802.11n standard allows 5 Ghz connection. And as I said I had it before, and its probably still there under "hidden". I really doubt HP or any other producer would sell computers without the 5Ghz band in 2018.

Dual band means 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, it has nothing to do with speed.

It all depends on the devices you are using, including the Access Point (router).

There are several variables to establish what speed can be achieved: how many antennas does your router access point have (MIMO)? Are you using a 20 MHz bandwidth or a 40 MHz bandwidth (which I doubt you are)? Is SGI enabled?

This is from the output list and shows which networks the computer has been connected to since I bought it in late august. As u can see several 5ghz are listed.

Sorry, but it is impossible for that wifi card to connect to the 5.0 GHz band.

Nobody will be able to help you get it to connect to the 5.0 GHz band either.

Any HP notebook that comes with that model wifi adapter cannot connect to the 5.0 GHz wifi band.

You can disagree all you want, but that isn't going to change what can't be changed.

Oh please, put a sock in it. Here is the output list showing which networks I've been connected to since I bought it in late august. As you can see there are several 5ghz networks.
