Low internet speed.

The Internet speed from the provider is 100mb/s. On this laptop, the speed is less than half. If you connect an Ethernet cable from the router, the Internet speed remains the same.

There is also a Lenovo laptop at home - the wifi speed and from the cable is much higher. Accordingly, the provider is not guilty. It's about the HP Compaq CQ58 laptop.

How to increase internet speed?

Your machine is too old, I can't get its official specs, only

             https://www.notebooks-center.com/hp_compaq_presario_cq58-200sr.html

It wifi adapter does NOT support higher speed (even its wired adapter is only 10/100: too slow). Machine was built around 2014 due to the whitelist therefore the chance of changing wifi adapter to newer adapter is very slime to none. You can use

or similar to get must faster speed for wifi.
