Hello,
We need the MAC address of the laptop mentioned in the attached invoice, which we purchased on 12/06/2019.

If we can access this information, we will be able to determine which on-campus lab it is located in.

Could you please assist us with this?

Thank you.

Hi @Mert071977,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We would like to understand your request a little better. Is the laptop currently missing/lost, or do you still have physical access to the device and need assistance locating its MAC address?

Please note that HP does not maintain or store the MAC address of a customer's device in our support records. The MAC address is assigned to the network adapter and can be viewed directly from the operating system on the laptop.

If you currently have access to the laptop, you can find the MAC address using the following steps:

Windows:

  1. Press Windows + R, type cmd, and press Enter.
  2. Type ipconfig /all and press Enter.
  3. Locate the active network adapter (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
  4. The MAC address will be listed as Physical Address.

Alternatively:

  1. Open Settings > Network & Internet.
  2. Select Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
  3. Choose your network connection and view the Physical (MAC) Address details.

If the device is lost or you no longer have access to it, unfortunately, HP would not be able to provide the MAC address, as this information is not stored in our support databases. In that case, you may wish to check your organisation's asset management records, network management tools, DHCP server logs, wireless controller logs, or any inventory software that may have previously recorded the device's MAC address.

Please let us know whether the device is currently available to you or if it is missing, and we will do our best to guide you further.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
