Hello,

I am using an HP victus laptop (Model: LAPTOP-DH0J9K9F) running Windows 11. Recently, my MediaTek Bluetooth adapter stopped working and shows a yellow warning icon in Device Manager with the error:

"Windows has stopped this device because it is not working properly. (Code 43)"

What I have tried so far:

  • Disabled and re-enabled the adapter in Device Manager

  • Updated the driver via Windows Update

  • Uninstalled the adapter and let Windows reinstall it

  • Ran the Bluetooth troubleshooter

  • Checked for the latest Windows updates

Unfortunately, the problem persists. I use Bluetooth frequently, so this is affecting my workflow.

Could someone please guide me on how to fix this or provide the correct driver for my laptop model?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

@swathi_victus, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter Error Code 43 on HP Victus Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The error code 43 in Device Manager indicates that Windows has stopped this device because it reports some problem. This could be due to a corrupted driver, hardware malfunction, or a simple misconfiguration. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your MediaTek Bluetooth adapter:

Check Device Status:

  • Right-click on the Bluetooth adapter in Device Manager and select "Properties." Check the device status under the "General" tab for more details about the error message.

Update Driver:

  • Make sure you have the latest driver for the Bluetooth adapter. You can download the latest drivers directly from HP’s official website or from the MediaTek website if available. Install them manually if Windows Update hasn’t installed them.

Driver tab in Device Manager

Roll Back Driver:

  • If the error started after a driver update, try rolling back to the previous driver version using the Driver tab in Device Manager.

Perform a Hardware Reset:

  • Turn off your laptop, unplug the power adapter, and remove any external devices. Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds to reset the hardware components. Restart and check if the issue persists.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS. Access the BIOS setup (usually by pressing the F10 key during boot-up) and navigate to any settings related to onboard devices.

Reinstall Bluetooth Adapter:

  • Uninstall the Bluetooth adapter from Device Manager and reboot the laptop. Windows should reinstall the adapter automatically upon restart.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
