MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter repeatedly disappears (Code 45) on HP Pavilion 15-eg2xxx

Hello,

I own an HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg2xxx (SKU: 6D4L1PA#ACJ).

I am experiencing an intermittent Bluetooth issue.

The MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter repeatedly disappears from Windows after startup or after some time. When this happens:

• The Bluetooth toggle disappears from Windows Settings.
• Device Manager previously reports Code 45 ("Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer.")
• PowerShell reports the MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter as Disconnected.
• Wi-Fi continues to work perfectly throughout the issue.

The problem temporarily resolves after reinstalling drivers or updating the BIOS, but it always returns later.

I have already completed the following troubleshooting:

• Updated Windows to the latest version.
• Updated the BIOS to the latest HP version.
• Installed the latest HP Bluetooth driver.
• Installed the latest HP chipset drivers.
• Updated Intel Management Engine drivers.
• Ran sfc /scannow (which repaired corrupted system files).
• Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
• Reinstalled the MediaTek Bluetooth driver multiple times.
• Verified Bluetooth Support Service is running.
• Ran HP diagnostics.

Since Wi-Fi continues to function normally while only Bluetooth disconnects, I suspect either a firmware issue affecting the MediaTek Bluetooth interface or a hardware issue with the wireless module.

Could you please advise whether this is a known issue for this model or whether the MediaTek wireless card should be inspected or replaced?

Been having similar issue on HP Victus 16 since yesterday.

Bluetooth suddenly stops working, when trying to turn it on or off it goes into Code 43 sometimes into Code 45, updating and reinstalling drivers did nothing to help, tried restarting and setting the bluetooth support service to automatic, ran the bluetooth troubleshooter that didn't help either,  when tried to run the HP diagnostics app, it removed the driver for the mediatek bluetooth adapter which just made it go into Code 45 in device manager.

Restarting the laptop seems to be the only fix and it is a temporary one because it randomly stops working again within a few hours.

• Which Windows 11 version are you using (24H2 or 25H2)?
• Is your Wi-Fi still working normally when Bluetooth disappears?
• Is your laptop also using a MediaTek Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card?
• Did this start after a recent Windows Update?
