My wireless network adapter is missing under device manager. The ethernet works fine for internet and the network adapter Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller exists under device manager. I have downloaded the correct wireless network adapter driver (Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter) from HP's website. I do not know how to install this driver on my notebook but have tried to no avail using the files downloaded. I have tried using the HP Recovery Manager to reinstall the driver but it gives me (error code=-2147213312). If you need any other details i will be happy to provide and thank you in advance for trying to help.

Hi, @Ezekiel_13
Install the HP connection manager, restart the PC and see if you can enable the Ralink wifi adapter by turning it on with the connection manager software.
This package provides the HP Connection Manager for the supportednotebook models and operating systems.

If that doesn't work, then there is a hardware issue with the adapter.
To troubleshoot a hardware issue, first remove and firmly reseat the wifi adapter.
Try doing that with the antennas connected to it to facilitate easy reinstallation without the need to reattach the tiny and delicate antenna connectors.
See the service manual below, chapter 4, starting on page 55 for the wifi adapter removal and replacement procedures.

If reseating the wifi adapter doesn't get it to show up in the device manager, the wifi adapter will have to be replaced.
I recommend upgrading to a newer and better wifi adapter...
If you have or plan to get an AC router...
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part #710661-001
If you only have a dual band wireless N router and don't plan on replacing it anytime soon...
Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi + BT4.0 HP Part # 717381-001
Either card is readily available on Amazon or eBay.
Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
