Hi

You are obviously connecting to the internet somehow (ethernet?), and to match a driver to your laptop please give the make and model, as HP 1000 Notebook PC has 14 types in the US, if the ethernet works try...

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

and perhaps...

https://support.hp.com/wps/portal/pps/Home/SWDSelfService/!ut/p/a1/04_Sj9CPykssy0xPLMnMz0vMAfGjzOJ9H...

may help.

It seems one may be a card reader from Realtek, the other an Intel unit.

Hi, @Johnzz

You need these drivers...

For the card reader, use the W10 driver directly from Realtek...download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file listed at the link below.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=15&PFid=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...

For the PCI Simple Comms Controller, you will have to use the W8 driver...

This package provides the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Management Engine Interface enables communication between the host operating system and the Intel Management Engine firmware.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58001-58500/sp58464.exe

Neither of the above drivers would have any impact on why you can't connect via ethernet cable.

You should be seeing a Realtek FE ethernet adapter under the network adapters device manager category.

If you do, then it should be working.  If you don't, and the device needs a driver, then you should be seeing a device listed where you see the other devices listed, labeled as an Ethernet Controller.

If you see either, the only suggestion I can offer, would be to install the W10 ethernet driver directly from Realtek.

Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W10 driver at the link below...
