Hi,
Im hoping someone can assist! I have a brand new laptop and have a android device Samsung Galaxy S9 Edge. I use this to connect as a Mobile Hotspot, i connect the laptop to the device and it constantly drops out. Connection lasts for about 5 minutes before disconnecting.
I have used the mobile device with other laptops and not had this issue, so it is apparent that it is the laptop. Does anyone have this issue, if so have you been able to resolve it?

@KAClark
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
-
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot.
-
For Share my Internet connection from, choose the Internet connection you want to share.
-
Select Edit > enter a new network name and password > Save.
-
Turn on Share my Internet connection with other devices.
-
To connect on the other device, go to the Wi-Fi settings on that device, find your network name, select it, enter the password, and then connect.
If the issue persists content next step:
Method 2:
- 1. Go to control panel.
- 2. Go to network and the internet.
- 3. Go to network connections.
- 4. In related settings, go to "Change adapter options"
- 5. Right-click on "wireless network connection" and go to properties.
- 6. Click "Configure and then Advance
- 7. In properties, "802.11n Preamble", selected, the select value "mixed mode" And click ok and click done
