After I updated my laptop with the windows version 1709, I havent been able to use the mobile hotspot like I used to. Before this once I connect the WIFI on my laptop and on the mobile hotspot then after connecting my phone to my laptop , but now I could not even activate it.
When I tried to activate my mobile hotspot on my laptop it says : We can't set up mobile hotspot.
I have tried many step from the net like, going to device manager to see hidden devices, scan for hardware changes , activating it and doing other setting but still I am out of luck.
But when I am click Properties of the Microsoft Wifi Direct Virtual Adapter in Device Manager it say this :
Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.
I have two of this listed in my device manager (under hidden devices) also:
Microsoft Wifi Direct Virtual Adapter
Microsoft Wifi Direct Virtual Adapter#2
I hope that I will be able to activate the mobile hotspot again soon

Hi
A possible cause/reason is because the Firewall has had changes made to it in the background.
Possible solution....
Windows Defender Security Centre;
Restore Firewall to Default;
Then running the Network Troubleshooter .
