Elitebook 1040 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have relatively new HP elitebook 1040 G7 and have enjoyed using SIM card reader to get mobile 4G internet wherever i am.  Following a windows update last week  (although it may be unrelated) i noticed that the Mobile network option in the notification area has disappeared.

I am not a technical expert but have tried the following thus far:

- - gone to control panel >network and internet> network and sharing centre>   (cannot see anything relating to mobile network at this point)   >  change adapter settings   (again... nothing)

i have also gone to device manager to update the driver but cannot see the relevant device listed...  although tobe fair not 100% on the name of the device i'm looing for.

I am not sure if the issue is harware failure or windows 10 update software incompatability... but either way it is not working and a great inconvenience, especially as i have only had the machine 6 months.

It may be worth mentioning that after 4 days of the above issue, the mobile feature has now reappeared in Windows 10.  I didn't do anything, it has just corrected itself.
