HP720 Wireless Keyboard has disconnected from Bluetooth. I cannot get it to reconnect and I cannot remove the device by going into Settings either.

Hi @Mike-2003X

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how inconvenient it feels when your HP720 Wireless Keyboard disconnects and refuses to reconnect, especially since you’ve already tried removing it from Settings without success.

You’ve taken the right first steps, so let’s go through a clear path to restore the connection.

Steps to reconnect the HP720 Wireless Keyboard

1. Reset the keyboard’s Bluetooth pairing

  • Turn the keyboard off using the power switch.
  • Wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button (usually located on the underside or side of the keyboard) until the LED starts blinking.
  • This puts the keyboard back into pairing mode.

2. Remove the device from Windows Bluetooth list

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & devices.
  • If the keyboard is listed but cannot be removed, toggle Bluetooth off, restart the computer, then toggle Bluetooth on again.
  • Try removing the keyboard entry once more.

3. Pair the keyboard again

  • In Bluetooth & devices, click Add device > Bluetooth.
  • Select HP720 Wireless Keyboard when it appears.
  • Enter the pairing code if prompted (usually displayed on screen and typed on the keyboard).

4. Update Bluetooth drivers

5. Test connection stability

  • Once paired, check if the keyboard remains connected after a restart.
  • If it disconnects again, repeat the pairing process with the updated driver.

The most effective immediate actions are to reset the keyboard into pairing mode, toggle Bluetooth off/on in Windows, and reinstall the Bluetooth driver from HP’s support page.
