Hi @pacificbrk,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Laser printer is showing as offline, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check the connections: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. Make sure the USB or Ethernet cable is securely plugged in. If you are using a wireless connection, check the Wi-Fi connection and ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • Restart your devices: Power off both your printer and computer. Wait for a few seconds and then power them back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Set the printer as default (Windows): If you are using a Windows computer, go to the Control Panel and open "Devices and Printers." Right-click on your printer and select "Set as default printer." This ensures that your computer recognizes the printer as the primary printing device.
  • Clear print queue (Windows): In the "Devices and Printers" section of the Control Panel, right-click on your printer and select "See what's printing." In the new window, click on "Printer" from the menu and select "Cancel All Documents." This clears any pending print jobs that might be causing the printer to appear offline.
  • Check printer status (Mac): If you are using a Mac, click on the Apple menu and go to "System Preferences." Then, select "Printers & Scanners." Select your printer from the left sidebar and check the status. If it shows as offline, click the "Resume" or "Open Print Queue" button to bring it back online.
  • Update or reinstall printer drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues. Visit the official HP website, search for your printer model, and download the latest drivers for your operating system. Install the updated drivers and check if the issue persists.
  • Reset the printer: Refer to your printer's user manual or the manufacturer's website for instructions on how to reset your specific printer model. Resetting the printer can often resolve various issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
