Hi:

The max throughput of that card is 72 MBPS, so 48 MBPS isn't horrible.

You should check the actual connection speed by going to the windows control panel>network and internet>network and sharing center, under the View your active networks section, click on the wifi connection on the right side of the window, and it will show you what speed it is connected at.

Close to the router, it should be at the full 72 MBPS.

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

OK.

According to the product number you posted, you have a HP 15-F272WM notebook.

It uses a Half mini card (HMC) format for the wifi card, and there is only one antenna cable connected to the Realtek wifi card in there now.

The service manual lists no supported dual band wifi cards.

Here are your options...

1.  A complete gamble that this card works...This card requires two antenna cables, but that is because the Bluetooth needs an antenna cable to get reception, but the dual band wifi should work if the notebook accepts it.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter  HP part #  784638-005

You should be able to find this card in used but tested and working condition on eBay.  Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

You would connect the antenna cable to this card's Main antenna terminal.

2. Purchase an external USB dual band wifi adapter.  They make some nano-size ones that hardly stick out of the USB port.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

Once again, there is no guarantee the Intel 3160 wifi card will work but it has a good chance.  Just no bluetooth.

The Bluetooth should show up in the device manager, but the signal will be too weak to connect to anything.
