My laptop first started giving me issues with the WIFI by connecting to my router, but not having internet access.

So I followed all the online advice and trick to try and solve the issue. But to no avail.

Eventually I downloaded all the drivers manually and installed it, but still no joy.

Lastly, I completely formatted everything and started with a clean install.

 

I ran all the windows updates and suddenly, no WIFI detected at all. I have a RALINK RT3290 Wifi with Bluetooth card.

Also no Bluetooth

 

There is no WIFI or Bluetooth adapters available in my device manager as well.

I am really out of solutions on this one...

 

Could it be that the card blew and I need to replace it, or is it just a driver compatibility issue?

Please advice.

I understand that you are facing issues with wifi connectivity.

 

Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here 
I have a few steps to resolve the issue:  

  • Since you've already reinstalled drivers, I would recommend using an Ethernet cable (Wired) and update your Wi-Fi drivers using this link  

  • Update the bios by visiting this link or through support assistant using an Ethernet cable.  

  • Now try to connect to the internet wireless.    

  

The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter: 

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
