HP Notebook - 15t-bs000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ok, so my computer isn't detecting it has Bluetooth. I ran the Bluetooth troubleshooter and it says my computer isn't compatible with Bluetooth. In the specs of this computer, it clearly says Bluetooth 4.0. I have tried reinstalling the Bluetooth drivers but it isn't working.help.png

You have two options...

You buy an external USB Bluetooth adapter such as this...

https://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTD-400-Bluetooth-4-0-USB/dp/B007Q45EF4

You replace the internal wifi adapter with this one...

Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11 bgn 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo Adapter   HP Part # 927230-855

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series.

The wifi card R & R procedures can be found in chapter 6.

Hi:

What model wifi adapter does your notebook have?

If you don't know, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.

Bluetooth is incorporated into the wireless network adapter's circuit board.

15t-bs000 is not a complete model number. Not all laptops have bluetooth so we need the full model or product number.

Hi:

The Realtek 8188EE wifi adapter is a single band, non-bluetooth wifi adapter.

Your notebook does not have built in bluetooth networking.

Ok, so what do I do?

So, can't I just report to HP that this isn't my fault that the bluetooth isn't working and they can fix it for me?

HP Recommended

Nope.

As I have already explained, your notebook didn't come from HP with built in bluetooth, so HP isn't going to do anything about it.

If you want bluetooth, you will have to add it yourself one way or t'other.

Here is the official parts list for your model.  HP had the option of installing 3 different model wifi cards.

http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=1EH10AV

They chose to install the one without bluetooth (WLAN RT TACORI BGN 1X1).

Feel free to contact HP about it, but don't get your hopes up.
