Hi @Jettica,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Deskjet 2710e printer is showing as offline on your Windows 10 IoT (Internet of Things) system, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a USB-connected printer, make sure the USB cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer. If it's a network-connected printer, check the network connection.
Restart Printer:
- Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve communication issues.
Check Printer Status:
- Open the "Devices and Printers" settings on your Windows 10 device. Right-click on the printer icon and make sure that it's set as the default printer. Also, check if there are any print jobs stuck in the queue.
Restart Print Spooler:
- Open the Services application by pressing Win + R, typing services.msc, and hitting Enter.
- Locate "Print Spooler" in the list, right-click on it, and select "Restart."
Check for Paper Jams or Printer Errors:
- Ensure that there are no paper jams, and there are no error lights or messages on the printer itself.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP official website and download the latest drivers for your HP Deskjet 2710e printer. Install the drivers on your Windows 10 device.
Check Network Connection:
- If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, ensure that the network connection is stable. You may need to reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network or check network settings.
Disable Offline Mode:
- Open the "Devices and Printers" settings, right-click on the printer, and make sure that the "Use Printer Offline" option is not selected. If it is, uncheck it.
Update Windows:
- Make sure that your Windows 10 IoT system is up to date. Check for and install any pending updates.
Reinstall the Printer:
- Remove the printer from your list of devices and printers and then reinstall it. This can help refresh the connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
