Hi@Esme7456,

Thanks for engaging in the HP support community! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand that you need assistance with the wireless connection dropping randomly on your notebook. I’ll be glad to assist you with this.

We need to isolate it to being hardware or software related first.

For better clarity, I would require more information regarding this.

  • When did this first begin?
  • Did it happen after a software or windows update?
  • Have you tried to run any test on the wireless card from F2?

Please try these steps first.

1. Open CMD with Administrator

2. Type:  sc config storsvc type= own

( this resets this service to its default state )

3. Restart the PC.

4. Check if this fixes it.

I recommend you try to follow the below steps:

Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties  > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck  "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

If it does not, please visit this link for further support: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 10)

If not check this link out: Common fixes for wireless connectivity issues.

The next thing, I would suggest here is to uninstall the wireless drivers from the device manager:

Right-Click on the start button> click device manager> Network adapters>then select the wireless drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the Wifi drivers.

Then restart the computer and check if you are able to go online.

Finally, please update the bios, chipset, and wifi drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers Please select the country and follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer to this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Have a great day!

H @Praveenbv,

I think I have a similar problem to @Esme7456 where under my network and internet settings no networks appear. Additionally, when I go to Change adaptor options, I only see ethernet 2, not the Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160 MHz driver. My PC is an HP Envy x360 with a Ryzen 5 microprocessor.

To work around this problem (with no success), I have:

- restarted my computer

- did a network reset and restarted computer

-changed battery settings to best performance

- tried your steps with the Command Line, but it says access denied. I'm not sure how to move forward there.

- updated the network driver and restarted

- uninstalled and deleted the network driver then restarted my computer. The driver would return but still in an error state

- reinstalled the network driver from the HP website itself

- tried to install older HP drivers (I ended up not being able to install the older ones because it said I had the newer ones available)

- tried to get the most recent windows update (I've downloaded the most recent update as of 7/7/2021

You also recommended changing the power management option of the driver, but I couldn't find that in my properties. The properties I see as listed are general, advanced, driver, details, and events.

In all of these attempts, the same error pops up (Code 10).  I'm not sure how to move forward. I might be missing something, so any additional insight could help.

Hi@andybenji.

Still the Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160 MHz drivers The said combination is not tested by HP. So, the functionality is not guaranteed

Check information  and confirm share the model number information.

Hi @Praveenbv,

I'm not too sure if this is what you asked me to do, but I went to system information, and found the system model to be HP Envy x360 Convertible 15-ds1xxx. Hope this helps.

I have the same model and have tried all the same fixes with no luck as well.

The issue started after the Windows H121 security update.

Hi, everybody.

I was able to fix the problem using the command line method @praveenbv recommended, making sure to run as administrator first to get around the access denied problem. Hopefully this helps!
