I have a HP 2000 - bf69WM notebook that originally had Windows 8 on it. It crashed and I didn't have a Windows 8 CD or recovery CD. So I installed Windows 7 64-bit. However, my device manager says I've got an issue with my PCI controller, network and wifi adapters.
Can anyone tell me what would be the correct Win 7 64-bit drivers for this laptop? Much thanks!

Hi:
You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the HP 2000z-2a00 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.
PCI device needs the Realtek card reader driver (under the storage drivers section).
Wifi needs the Ralink b/g/n wifi driver (under the Networking driver section).
Ethernet needs the Realtek LAN driver (under the Networking driver section).
No doubt you need the graphics driver too, as that doesn't show up in the device manager as needing a driver where the other devices you listed appear.

Paul,
I tried the Realtek card reader driver (under the storage drivers section)--but to no avail. Even after running setup for this, my PCI card reader still shows an error and when I point to the folder where the files were expanded, it says there's no driver for that device there. Also, the Wifi adapter is still not showing as an available network device.
Sincerely,
Coopstein

Hi:
Please post the hardware ID's for the devices that need the drivers.
Should be the PCI Device and Network Controller (wireless card).
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID...

Paul,
Thanks for your reply. The only device in Device Manager that's showing an alert for no driver or bad drive is just the "PCI Device." The only network connection found is the the Local Area Network connection for CAT5 Ethernet--and it's working fine. I don't see any reference to the Wifi adapter and wonder if the missing driver for the PCI Device is why it's not showing.
Listed below are the Hardware IDs for the PCI Device:
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_169A103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_169A103C
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF0000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF00

Hi:
See if the card reader driver directly from Realtek works.
Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file listed at the link below.
I am not a PC repair tech by trade or training, but I would have to say the wireless card suffered a hardware failure since it is not showing up under the network adapters device manager category, or as a network controller needing a driver.
You may want to try removing and firmly reseating the wlan card. Sometimes the connections get oxidized and the card quits showing up.
Try to leave the tiny antenna leads connected when you do that.
Refer to chapter 4 of the service manual for the wlan card R & R procedures.
