HP ENVY TS 15 Notebook PC C8P47AV
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is also known as

HP ENVY 15t-j000 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC

I currently have the Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter that came with it. But it can only do 2G wifi and the most speed  can get out of it wirelessly is maybe 60bps on a good day. Usually ore like 40mbps.

I'd like to replace the wifi adapter but have no clue if this old machine can take a 5g network adapter and if so, which one. I installed all the bios updates when HP used to roll them out. But it's been a long time since they've done any updates on this machine. I did find info on their site on how to replace the network adapter. But that was it. No info on what it supports or recommendations on what to buy.

Any ideas? Happy to provide more info if needed.

thanks in advance.

You're very welcome.

Many forum members have installed that card in their 15t-j000 and 15t-j100 models, and it works just fine.

Hi:

You can upgrade to this dual band AC wifi adapter...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0          HP Part # 710661-001

The card is readily available on eBay or Amazon.

Search by the HP part number, not by the model number of the wireless card.

So will my bios accept that network card ok? For sure would work with this model? I saw some other posts where that might be an issue. Just wanna be sure it'll work before I buy it. Thanks for your prompt reply. 🙂

Ok thanks for confirming. I will buy one and try it out and if it works I’ll buy another. We have two of the same laptops.

You Rock man. I searched these forums and the HP website high and low and could not find an answer. Lifesaver.

That isn't correct as I installed the same card with that SPS# in my HP 350 G1 notebook and it worked just fine.

If it makes you feel better, get this one where it clearly shows that the card is compatible with HP notebooks...

Hello Paul,

Thanks. That does make me feel better. I’ll get the one you recommended.

Happy Holidays,

it will be next year by the time it arrives but at least this seller accepts returns in case it doesn’t work. The other did not.

I will report back my results. You da best man. Thank the Universe for people like you.

Best,

You're very welcome.

I bought mine from China as well.

I think it took about 2 weeks to get to the USA.

I was in no hurry, and the price was right.

Happy Holidays to you too!
