Hi all, been reading this post and was wondering.....

I just did the same clean install on a HP Pavillion dv7 Notebook pc, Product No; A6H57EA#ABH, Serial No; 2CE1451DGB. and found no drivers, so no internet. Can't find them on the software page so was wondering if the sp45290.exe and sp48591.exe would do the trick for me?

Been at it half a day and do not have a clue what I'm talking about.

Thank you in advance for your time to read this and hopefully help me 🙂

Hi, @Redkate75 :

There is no information online regarding what model wireless network adapter your notebook has.

Please post the hardware ID's for the device you see listed as a Network Controller in the device manager.

To find the hardware ID, click on the Network Controller device in the device manager.

Then click on the details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.

Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.

Drop down on that list, and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

If you also need the wired network (ethernet controller) driver, this is the one for that...

This package provides the Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver that enables the Realtek Network Interface Card (NIC) Chip in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

File name: sp55105.exe

Hi Paul,

Thank you so much for your help and time, really appreciate it.

What I get as first line of network controller, hardware ids is;
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_008B&SUBSYS_53158086&REV_34

I hope this is the correct one?
I also found an ethernet cable so I'll download the link above on my usb stick and try that too.

Again, thank you so much for this.

You're very welcome.

Yes, that ID is exactly what I needed in order to find the wireless driver for your notebook PC.

Here is the link to the wireless card driver for that ID:

This package contains drivers required to enable functionality of the Intel Wireless LAN adapter on supported notebooks with supported operating systems.

File name: sp54841.exe
