Network Adapter Not Found

Sir, i have an hp elitebook 8440p. the problem is , after formating and reinstalling windows 8 64 bit, its wifi is not showing "no connections are available". It's only showing me an Ethernet connection icon.
the problem persits in the 32 bit version as well.
please help me with a solution as soon as posible .

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

The problem is that the HP product page for your PC shows it coming preinstalled with Windows 7, not Windows 8.  So, HOW did you get the media to install Win8 on it?

Also, as it did not come with Win8 preinstalled, HP does not provide Win8 drivers for it.  That means that unless someone comes along with links for compatible drivers from another model PC, you are stuck with the generic drivers that Microsoft installs, and that means some of your hardware is never going to function properly.

Hello sir, I have installed windows 7 professional and the Wi-Fi is now working fine.
But am now having issues with my graphics card each time I try to run my Photoshop am getting a message that some 3d features will not run properly due to my graphics card not meeting the requirements. But I wasn't so when I was just using windows 8
Can I update it? And how.
