ay065nr
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Purchased a HP 15-ay065nr with windows 10 and had to rebuild with windows 7 64bit.

Having an issue with the Network Controller not being recognized and also not having WIFI and Bluetooth. I downloaded and installed all the windows 7 drivers listed on the laptop HIP site, link below with no luck.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/10862300/model/11926588/drivers

The ethernet port works fine. I believe the wifi and bluetooth are one chip by Realtek but not sure how to fix it.

Any suggestions?

Hi:

That's what they did (substituted with a different wlan card)...Your notebook has the Broadcom single band wlan card with bluetooth.

Here are all the drivers you need for the ID's you posted...

Wireless:

The package contains the Broadcom wireless LAN drivers and utility that are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter in supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72879.exe

Bluetooth:

This package contains the Broadcom Bluetooth driver and software for supported models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver is required to enable Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 devices and is compatible with Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 and earlier versions.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72617.exe

ACPI\MSFT0101:  Needs the hotfix from Microsoft to add support for the TPM 2.0 device.

I have zipped that file up and attached it below.  Download, unzip and run it.

Hi:

Yes, you are correct.

Your notebook has the Realtek RTL8723BE-VB 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combination WLAN adapter, according to the parts list, so the W7 Realtek Wifi and Bluetooth drivers should have worked.

So the only other possibility it could be is that HP substituted a different model wlan card in place of the Realtek one.

Please post the hardware ID for the device listed as a network controller in the device manager.

To find the hardware ID, click on the network controller device, and then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.

Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.

Drop down on that list, and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Hi Paul,

I pasted the hardware IDs below for the Network controller and I also did the same for an unknow device to see if it is the same issue.

Network controller IDs

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&SUBSYS_804A103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&SUBSYS_804A103C
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&CC_0280

Unknown device IDs

ACPI\MSFT0101
*MSFT0101

 Thank you.

HI Paul,

Thank you for your help. It was a Broadcom wlan and bluetooth chip and not the realtek.

All resolved!

Thanks again.
