Hello, so yesterday I was able to connect to wifi and create a VPN for work. Last night when I got home I realized that my laptop was not even discovering my at home Wifi network. When I came in today I saw that once again that my laptop was not discovering any Wifi networks, but I can connect to the internet via a hard line. When I did some digging, there were no settings for wifi and digging even further showed that the drivers for the Network controller were either out of date or not there. When I tried to update the drivers, it said that there were no new drivers to be found. Went to HP's drivers and could not find it either? Anyone know where I can find this driver or better yet what is happening to my computer's ability to detect Wifi networks?

Hi:

If there is a network controller device in the device manager needing a driver, please post the hardware ID for it, so I can figure out what wifi driver it needs.

Use this guide to find that information...

Hi:

According to the hardware ID you posted, your notebook has an Intel Wireless-AC 9560 wifi adapter.

I would use the latest driver directly from Intel and see if that works for you...

Downloaded latest driver, restarted my computer, no change. Rinsed and repeated just in case, also no change.

I have no idea why that didn't work.

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to try manually installing the driver.

This time download, save and unzip this file.  First one at the top left side of the page

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29361/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-IT-Ad...

Go to the device manager.  Click on the Intel Network Controller device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the wifi driver file you unzipped.

Make sure the include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

If not, I suggest you contact HP technical support for further assistance if your notebook is still under warranty, because something may have gone wrong with the wifi card.
