Hi, @cweklund

You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software, except the BIOS and firmware files from the dv6t-7000.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-dv6-7000-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5226230/m...

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a Ralink wifi/bluetooth adapter, so here are the latest W7 drivers for that card...

This package contains the driver installation package for the Ralink wireless LAN Controllers in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

This package contains the driver installation package for the MediaTek/Ralink Bluetooth in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Boouyyaaa!!!! Totally awesome! Thank you so much, you seriously just saved me a ton of trial and error time. Much appreciated. One more question that you might know....can this particular model be upgraded to an I7CPU? Thank you again, Cody

You're very welcome, Cody.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

The supported processors can be found in chapter 1.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03591281

But take a look at the list of motherboards in chapter 3.

It seems to me that you would have to upgrade to one of the i7 processors that are 35W, not 45W.

Also if you are interested, you can ditch that crummy Ralink card and upgrade to the Intel dual band 7260 AC card with bluetooth...  This one...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0     HP Part #710661-001

The card should be readily available on Amazon or eBay.

Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Before installing the new card, uninstall the ralink wifi card in the device manager, check the uninstall driver box, and do the same for the Ralink bluetooth.

If there is Ralink bluetooth software in the Windows control panel>programs, uninstall that too.

Then install the Intel wifi card.
