Network Security Key
11-28-2010 07:04 AM

I am trying to set up someone wireless, but it keeps asking for a Network Security Key. I have gone to my computer trying to find this key, I think I have found it but it doesn't give me the actual password. How do I find out what I made as a password, so that I can access this from my friends computer?

Hi,
You will need to access your Routers homepage from your PC and look under Security to see what the network security key is. If you cannot view the actual key ( ie it just shows as a series of ******** ) you may need to set a new security key in your router and then enter this new key in your friends PC as well as your own PC to connect to your Home Network.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
DP-K

On my wireless router, the network sec key is written on the router itself. It a 10 digit number. Unless someone has changed it to some hidden (10 digit) other number. Then, you're SOL!
