Hi @Yashveer2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP PC’s network adapter sometimes fails to work properly at startup and shows a message like “Reinstall the network adapter”, it’s likely due to a driver issuepower management setting, or hardware initialization delay. Here’s how to fix it:

1. Update or Reinstall the Network Adapter Driver

  1. Press Win + X → Device Manager.
  2. Expand Network adapters.
  3. Right-click your Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter → Update driver → Search automatically.
  4. If that doesn’t help:
    • Right-click again → Uninstall device.
    • Restart your PC. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

2. Disable Power Saving for the Adapter

  1. In Device Manager, right-click your network adapter → Properties.
  2. Go to the Power Management tab.
  3. Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.
  4. Click OK.

3. Run the Network Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.

4. Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  • Install any pending updates, especially driver updates, under Optional Updates.

5. Reset Network Settings (if needed)

If the issue persists:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
  • Click Reset now (this will remove and reinstall all network adapters).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
