Hi @Siimply,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Stream Notebook is not showing up on your network and it says it's not connected to Wi-Fi, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Make sure your Wi-Fi router is working correctly and that other devices can connect to it without any issues.
- Restart your router to see if that resolves the problem.
Check Wi-Fi Adapter:
- On your HP Stream Notebook, ensure that the Wi-Fi adapter is turned on. This can often be done by pressing a function key (e.g., F2 or F12) that has a Wi-Fi symbol on it, or by checking the Windows settings.
Network Troubleshooter:
- Run the built-in Windows Network Troubleshooter. To do this, right-click on the network icon in the taskbar and select "Troubleshoot problems." Follow the on-screen instructions.
Restart Your Laptop:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve network issues. Restart your HP Stream Notebook and see if it can connect to the network afterward.
Update Wi-Fi Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupted Wi-Fi drivers can cause connectivity problems. Go to the HP support website, find your laptop model, and download and install the latest Wi-Fi drivers for your system.
Forget and Reconnect to the Network:
- In the Windows settings, go to "Network & Internet" > "Wi-Fi," and then click on the network you want to connect to. Choose "Forget" to remove the network profile, and then reconnect by entering the Wi-Fi password.
Check Airplane Mode:
- Make sure that Airplane Mode is turned off. This mode disables all wireless connections, including Wi-Fi.
Disable and Enable Wi-Fi:
- In the Windows settings, you can try disabling and then re-enabling the Wi-Fi adapter. This can sometimes refresh the connection.
Security Software:
- Check if any security software or firewall settings on your laptop are blocking your network connection. Temporarily disabling such software for testing purposes can help identify if it's the cause.
Hardware Issues:
- If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware issue with your Wi-Fi adapter or the laptop itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
