HP 9018 All in one printer was set up at my home office, & working great as recent as today.

I needed to move this printer to a sepaate location.  When I went to set up  / Network Settings, everyting is greyed out and does not give me an option for set up wizzard.

I have restarted  / unplugged printer as well as office Wi-fi.

Many options are not available to me as if I am locked out of  this printer

Hi @gfeller1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the HP 9018 All-in-One printer might be having trouble reconnecting to the network after being moved. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Reset Network Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup (usually represented by a gear icon).
  • Go to Network or Network Setup.
  • Look for an option to Restore Network Settings or Reset Network Settings. This will clear the current network configuration and allow you to start fresh.

Reboot Devices:

  • Ensure that both your printer and router are turned off for a few minutes before turning them back on. Sometimes a complete reboot can resolve connectivity issues.

Use the Printer’s Control Panel:

  • If the network settings are still greyed out, try accessing the printer’s settings via the control panel. Some models allow you to perform a network setup directly from the control panel without needing the Setup Wizard.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. You may need to connect the printer to a computer via USB to perform the update if you cannot connect to the network.

Printer Software:

  • Reinstall the HP Smart app or the printer software on your computer. This might help in recognizing and connecting to the printer if the network settings are causing issues.

Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):

  • If your router supports WPS, you can try connecting the printer to the network using WPS. Press the WPS button on your router and follow the printer’s instructions to complete the connection.

Manual Network Configuration:

  • If you can access the printer’s control panel but not the network settings, try entering your network details manually. Navigate to the wireless settings and enter your SSID and password directly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
