Hi @Leo_Spain ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering some issues after updating your HP 17 Laptop PC to Windows 11 version 23H2. The fact that you can access the network using the command line but not through the graphical interface suggests that there might be a problem with the Windows Explorer or the network settings in Windows.

Here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

1.    Turn off the Unit.

2.    Disconnect the AC adapter.

3.    Remove any discs from the disc drive.

4.    Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

5.    Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

6.    Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.

7.    Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

Check Network Discovery Settings:

  • Open the Control Panel and navigate to the Network and Sharing Center.
  • Ensure that Network Discovery is turned on.
  • Also, check the settings for File and Printer Sharing to ensure they are enabled.

Check Network Services:

  • Open the Services application by searching for "Services" in the Windows search bar.
  • Make sure that services such as "Function Discovery Resource Publication", "Network Location Awareness", and "SSDP Discovery" are running and set to start automatically.

Update Network Drivers:

  • Go to the Device Manager (you can search for it in the Windows search bar).
  • Look for your network adapter under "Network adapters".
  • Right-click on your network adapter and select "Update driver".
  • Choose the option to search automatically for updated driver software.

Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings:

  • Sometimes, third-party firewalls or antivirus software can block network access. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:
  • netsh winsock reset
    netsh int ip reset
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

  • Reboot your computer and see if the issue is resolved.

Check Wireless Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the wireless printer is powered on and connected to the same network.
  • Try reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer.
