I have a new HP Laptop - and for a few weeks all was well.  Now, it drops from the WIFI connection when not in use.  This is happening way too often, and a restart is what works to getting it back on network.  There has to be a better fix.

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your notebook come with?

Thanks.  I hope this helps to diagnose the issue.  It is still happening.

You're very welcome.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the drivers for that model Wi-Fi adapter:

Realtek RTL8xxx Wireless LAN Drivers

Version 2024.10.230.1

sp155768.exe

Realtek RTL8xxx Series Bluetooth Driver

Version 1.10.1072.3000

sp155460.exe

thanks for the suggestion.  I have run your attached driver installation script (WiFi only).  I will update in a few days with the result.

well....all worked fine until today...first thing this morning i unplugged the laptop and carried to my couch to use the laptop.  no Internet.  Had to Restart.  Ugh!

Sorry, that updating the driver didn't work for you.

If you want to try an even newer driver that has not yet been released to HP, there is version 2024.10.230.2 available on the Asus Republic of Gamers website:

Thanks.  Installed 2/5/25 @ 1:53pm.  Hoping this solves the issue.  At what point to I go to HP for a new laptop?

You're very welcome.
