New Laptop is slooooow using internet

Have had my new HP laptop 17" win10 for about a month and planned to replace my 8 year old Toshiba.  But when I run a speed check on each of the laptops the HP runs about 1/2 the speed of the Toshiba and many times I get a latency error on the HP before it even starts the test.  Would appreciate any help - so far my Toshiba is a race horse compared to this nag.

I'd suggest you try updating the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates troubleshooter -

Click on this link to run Windows Updates troubleshooter.

Step 2 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 3 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
