I have a hp 550, Windows Vista, and the internet explorer is too old. So I’m stuck and cannot download any new browser since that Internet explorer is not opening the pages I need on the internet. So I wanted to download Firefox or something as good from another computer and save it on a USB. That way I can install it on my HP 550. But I don’t know what is the safest and simplest website to get it from. And I would like to know which procedure to follow. Or is their any better option. Many thanks !!

You're very welcome.
If you can get to that website using Internet explorer, try that first.
If not, download the file onto another PC.
Copy the file to a USB flash drive.
Plug the flash drive into your HP 550 notebook PC.
You can either double-click to run the file from the flash drive and it will install Firefox, or you can copy and paste the file to your windows desktop and run it from there.
It will be a little faster to install Firefox that way, if you copy and paste the file from the flash drive to the windows Vista desktop, then double cick to run the file.

Hi:
I think Firefox is your best bet for Vista.
Filehippo is the safest place to get it from.
You need version 52.
Click on the green download button on the upper right side of the webpage.
https://filehippo.com/download_mozilla-firefox/73863/
After you install the Firefox browser, see if it will update to a newer version.
I think 52 was the last supported version for Vista.
