Hi All,

My laptop is Bluetooth enabled, however,  I am unable to download any drivers that allow me to use bluetooth. Previous posts stated HP Connection Manager is the necessary software required to enable Bluetooth functionality. However, this software is outdated and does not appear to be supported by HP.

What options do I have to enable Bluetooth? Thank you community.

Hi:

If there is no bluetooth radios icon listed in the device manager...

If you had W7 on your notebook when you upgraded to W10, then the BT radio was turned off via the W7 connection manager software.

Now that the connection manager software no longer works, there is no way to turn the BT on unless you reinstall W7, install the HP connection manager software, turn on the BT with the connection manager software, uninstall the connection manager software, restart the PC.

Verify the bluetooth radio is still turned on using the software, and then you can reinstall W10.

I don't believe Windows 7 was ever on this computer.

I purchased it refurbished. It came with Windows 10.

Hi:

As you can see from page 3 of the quickspecs link below, the newest OS it could have possibly originally come with was W8, and I can all but guarantee you, it originally came with W7 Pro via downgrade rights from W8 (one of the options listed).

So, whoever upgraded the PC from W7 to W10 screwed up, and had the BT turned off when they did the upgrade.

You will be able to determine that I am 100% correct if you go into the BIOS, look at the device settings and you will see that BT is present and enabled in the BIOS.

If that is what you see (and you see no Bluetooth device manager category), then BT is turned off forever unless you follow the guidance I posted above.

Turn off fastboot in Bios.  This worked for me
