I've a HP ENVY x360, and I'm having constantly problems with the connection.
The wifi symbol it's nowhere to be found, I've bought a Lan adapter and still doesn't connect. I've tried all sorts of things, downloading drivers from another device and whatever, but still no solutions.
Any help? Thank you so much

@Edo00, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding connectivity issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Check Network Adapter Settings:
- Go to Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting it from the list.
- Look for 'Network adapters' and find your Wi-Fi adapter.
- Right-click on it and choose 'Update driver'. If you have downloaded the latest drivers on another device, choose 'Browse my computer for drivers' and select the appropriate files.
Enable Wi-Fi:
- Make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled on your laptop. Sometimes, there is a physical switch or a function key (like F12) that must be toggled on.
Reset Network Settings:
- Open 'Settings', go to 'Network & Internet', and select 'Status'.
- Click on 'Network reset' and follow the instructions.
Run Network Troubleshooter:
- In 'Settings', go to 'Network & Internet' and select 'Troubleshoot'.
- Follow the instructions to let Windows try to resolve connectivity issues.
Use HP Support Assistant:
- If installed, open HP Support Assistant and check for any updates or run diagnostics on your network components.
LAN Adapter Issues:
- Ensure that your LAN adapter is working properly. Check 'Device Manager' for any errors under 'Network adapters'.
- Try using a different port on your router to see if the issue is with the adapter or the network.
Router Check:
- Confirm that the issue is not with the router itself by connecting another device. If that device connects without issues, the problem might be with your laptop.
Reboot Your Devices:
- Restart your HP ENVY x360, your router, and modem. Sometimes a simple reboot can resolve connection issues.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

@Edo00, Thanks for getting back — and I'm really sorry the steps didn’t help. Let’s dig a little deeper so we can sort this out together.
A couple of quick questions to help narrow things down:
In Device Manager, is your Wi-Fi adapter showing at all — maybe with a yellow warning icon or listed under “Hidden devices”?
When you plug in the LAN adapter, does anything change in the network list or do you get any error messages?
Have there been any recent updates or system changes before the issue started?
Looking forward to your reply — we’ll get this sorted!
Take care,
Regards,

Hi Zoey, thank you so much for getting back to me.
The wifi adapter it's present and doesn't show anything weird, under properties it says that it's working properly.
When I connect the LAN, it tries to connect, and then it says "no connection".
I had this problem multiple times, always fixed it by rebooting the laptop. Last time I had it, nothing worked, so I brought it to a local shop and they had to do the "factory reset", that fixed the issue. Then, It happened 2 weeks ago again, and I used my phone with a USB for do tethering. That worked and resolved the problem.
This time seems nothing helps.
I'm so sorry to bother you with this, if you don't have time do not worry!!!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Hi @Edo00,
Thanks so much for sharing those details — and no need to apologize, you’re absolutely not bothering me! I’m here to help.
It sounds like your system might be facing a deeper software or even hardware issue, especially since a factory reset was needed last time. Given that both Wi-Fi and LAN are struggling, I’d recommend trying a BIOS reset first (it’s quick and safe):
Power off the laptop.
Turn it back on and immediately keep tapping F10 to enter BIOS.
Once in BIOS, press F9 to load setup defaults, then F10 to save and exit.
After that, check if connectivity returns.
If not, the safest next step might be running a full HP Hardware Diagnostics check to rule out hardware issues.
And if nothing changes, it could be time to consider a clean Windows reinstall or another repair — I’ll guide you if needed!
You’re doing great troubleshooting so far — we’ll get through this together.
