Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion p6-2317c Desktop PC. I read that the wireless card is not showing up in the PC. Only the ethernet card shows up.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- When was the last time the wifi card worked fine in the PC?
- Did any software changes or updates happen post which this issue may have started?
I did some research and found that there are no drivers available for Win10. That could be a reason for the wireless card not working. You may try to download and install the wifi drivers from this link. Please restart the PC after installing the drivers. This should help. If not then please follow the below steps.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- First, let us check if the wifi card is detected in the device manager.
- Expand "Network adapters".In network adapters, please check if the "RALINK" wireless card drivers are listed.
- If only the ethernet "Atheros" drivers are listed and there is no mentioned about the Ralink drivers or you do not see any device with a yellow exclamation/question mark then you might have to reset the wireless card in the PC.
The detailed steps to open the PC casing is provided in this link. NOTE: Ensure the PC is powered off before opening the PC. The wireless card looks like as shown in the below image:
- Please remove and reinsert the wireless card.
This should make the wireless card detected.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know how it goes. Cheers!
