Hello and thank you for any help that may come. I'm not very tech savvy but I'll
do my best to explain my issue. I have a Hp Pavilion 15t-eg100. I've had for about 2 or 3 years now and I don't use it much. in fact, the last time I used it was in late October of 2024. i came to use it today and noticed that i couldn't connect to my wifi. after further investigation, I saw that there was no wifi icon with which to toggle on and off. It doesn't even pick up on a wifi network whatsoever. There's also no ability to connect through bluetooth at all. Its almost as if these functions never existed on the device. i never turn the laptop off, just flip the screen down when I'm done. So I'm thinking that the device automatically updated the OS to windows 11pro some kind of way??? Idk for sure but what I do know that no one else uses this laptop but me as everyone in my family has there own and i have a password on here. any help to get to the bottom of this would be truly appreciated!!

Hi @JayAyeWhy86
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're facing a frustrating issue with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth after what seems like a potential Windows 11 update. Don't worry, I’ll guide you through the process to try and get your laptop’s connectivity working again.
Here are some steps we can take to troubleshoot the problem:
1. Check Device Manager for Network and Bluetooth Adapters
The issue may be related to missing or disabled drivers for your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters.
Steps to check Device Manager:
- Press Win + X on your keyboard and select Device Manager from the menu.
- Expand the Network adapters section to see if your Wi-Fi adapter is listed.
- Expand the Bluetooth section to check for Bluetooth drivers.
- If you see a yellow triangle or an exclamation mark next to any of these devices, that indicates a driver issue.
- If there's an issue, right-click on the device and select Update driver. You can either search for updated drivers automatically or visit the HP Support website to download the latest drivers for your specific model.
- If the devices aren’t listed, it might indicate that the drivers were somehow removed or disabled during the update. In that case, we’ll need to reinstall the drivers.
2. Check Windows Settings for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Settings
Sometimes the settings get reset or changed, especially after an OS update.
Wi-Fi Settings:
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Click on Network & Internet.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. If you don’t see a Wi-Fi option, there might be an issue with the adapter (as mentioned above).
Bluetooth Settings:
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to Devices and click on Bluetooth & other devices.
- Ensure Bluetooth is turned on. If you don’t see Bluetooth listed, this suggests a driver issue or that the device isn't being detected.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
