Upon physical inspection, it appears that the fan rotates at it's fastest when the noise comes but that is only when the computer is cold. Once warmed up (after a couple minutes) the rattling noise goes away even when I'm playing demanding games on steam. Also please note that I'm not referring to the normal sound from the fan which you hear when the CPU utlization is at it's highest. This noise that I refere to is very annoying. Here is a link for you to know what it sounds like:

Also, when it makes the noise, I stopped the fan and the noise stopped so it's definate that the noise is coming from the fan's motor.

If your fan sounds like that, it's definitely time to replace the fan.

Fun experiment: with the laptop "off" and "cold", hold it upside-down, above your head, for a minute or two.

Will the lubricant inside the fan "ooze" from its normal location (gravity has pulled the lubricant "down" on a right-side up laptop) towards the keyboard, to spread the lubricant?

While still upside-down, turn it on, and and listen for the noise.

looks like the oil has seeped into the right places within the fan and now the noise has disappeared. As such I've not screwed back the laptop casing.

Initially when I used the oil and started it, the noise did not go away because the oil had not reached the right places. I understand this now.

All the replies you guys have given me helped me in troubleshooting this issue. Thank You guys
