HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eh0000 (9WD44AV)

Hi,

I have a 550 Mbps internet and with my HP laptop my download speed never went above 230-250 Mbps. I am sitting within 2 meters of the router and I have the latest Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe driver installed, everything is up to date, nothing else is running and still not able to reach higher speeds. Also when I am in another room, the speed goes down to 80-110 Mbps. Is this standard? Or can I do something about it?

Hi @pape03

This wi-fi card maximum speed is 433 Mbps , now depending on the band you use , the environment if there are many wi-fi networks near you this speed can drop drastically.

Thank you, that makes sense. I saw the max speed of the wifi card. And yes unfortunately there are loads of wifi networks nearby. Is there any better wifi card for my PC? Do you think it is worth upgrading?

having only one wi-fi antenna, the only better alternative is the

Realtek Wi-Fi 6 RTL8852BE-VS+ Bluetooth 5.3
N26166-005

Search by part number to find the one with a single antenna. But remember that you can only achieve the 600 Mbps speed with a Wi-fi 6 compatible router.

• 802.11ac : max 433Mbps
• 802.11ax : max 600Mbps
