My taskbar, and even the HP Support Assistent both says I don't have a wireless internet connection.
The HP Support Assistent offers a Network Check, which says I'm connected with internet. Still the Support Assistent won't work because it says I'm not connected to wireless internet (you get it?)
The taskbar image is above, but when I'm clicking on it, it says I'm connected to the wireless internet.

Hi @JetzzDG,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15 Notebook is indicating that it doesn't have a wireless connection even though it should, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Check the Wireless Switch or Function Key:
- Many laptops have a physical switch or a function key (e.g., F2 or F12) that can enable or disable the wireless adapter. Ensure that the wireless adapter is turned on. You may need to press the appropriate function key with the "Fn" key to toggle the wireless adapter.
Restart Your Laptop:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Restart your laptop and see if the wireless connection is recognized after rebooting.
Verify Airplane Mode:
- Check if your laptop is in Airplane Mode. Airplane Mode disables all wireless communication, including Wi-Fi. You can turn it off in the Windows settings.
Update Wireless Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupted wireless drivers can cause connectivity issues. Go to the HP support website and download the latest wireless drivers for your laptop model. Install them and restart your laptop if necessary.
Check for Disabled Network Adapter:
- Sometimes, the wireless network adapter might be disabled in the Windows settings. To check this: a. Right-click on the Windows Start button and select "Device Manager." b. Expand the "Network adapters" section. c. If you see your wireless adapter listed, right-click on it and select "Enable" if it's currently disabled.
Reset Network Settings:
- You can try resetting your network settings to their default state: a. Open the Windows Settings (press Win + I). b. Go to "Network & Internet." c. Scroll down and select "Network reset." d. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your network settings. This will remove all network adapters and settings, so you may need to set up your Wi-Fi connection again.
Run Network Troubleshooter:
- Windows has a built-in network troubleshooter that can help identify and fix network-related issues. To run it: a. Open the Windows Settings. b. Go to "Update & Security." c. Select "Troubleshoot" from the left sidebar. d. Under "Find and fix other problems," click on "Internet Connections" and follow the prompts.
Check for Interference:
- Ensure that there are no physical obstructions or interference sources near your laptop that could weaken your Wi-Fi signal. Move closer to your Wi-Fi router to rule out signal strength issues.
Test on a Different Network:
- If possible, connect to a different Wi-Fi network or use a wired Ethernet connection to determine if the issue is specific to your laptop or your network.
By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue with your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15 Notebook's wireless connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
