Old laptop

OLD HP Pavillion Entertainment PC.  Model DV8t-1100.  Win 7!  Brought it back to life with factory reset.  Can connect to internet, just can't DO internet.  I believe there are supplemental programs that do that kinda stuff that does not get done with factory reset.  Is there a way to buy a CD that has the supplemental (sorry, don't know the right words for that) stuff?  Obviously, I can't go online to download anything...  Want to use it for my grandcritter to do basic stuff.  Thanks.

What model Wi-Fi adapter does the notebook come with?

That should appear in the device manager under the Network Adapters device manager category.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the W7 Wi-Fi driver to the latest version HP has for that model card:

The version 13.1 driver on your notebook's support page is from 2010.

Download the file from another PC, copy it to a USB flash drive, plug the flash drive into your DV8t-1100 notebook's USB port, copy the file to the Windows desktop and run the file.
